Terroir:
The vineyards are located in Morgon, Beaujolais, with soils primarily composed of decomposed granite and schist on granite bedrock. The region’s acidic and well-draining soils are ideal for Gamay, contributing to the wine's minerality and complexity.
Viticulture:
The estate practices certified organic and biodynamic viticulture. The vines, averaging 60 years old, are hand-harvested and sorted meticulously to ensure the highest quality grapes. This sustainable approach preserves the health of the vines and soil.
Winemaking:
Following the principles of natural winemaking, the grapes undergo semi-carbonic maceration without added sulfur or commercial yeasts. The wine is aged on fine lees in old Burgundy barrels for approximately nine months, enhancing its depth and character.
Tasting Notes:
The Domaine Marcel Lapierre Morgon exhibits dominant aromas of cherry, licorice, and violet. On the palate, it presents silky ripe fruit flavors with earthy tones and a stimulating, juicy energy. This wine combines the lightness and richness typical of high-quality Morgon, offering a vibrant and expressive drinking experience.
