Château Le Conte is located in the town of Saint-Hippolyte, within the Saint-Émilion appellation. The vineyard benefits from a prestigious terroir, with clay-sandy topsoil and underlying asteria limestone. This soil composition provides excellent drainage and contributes to the wine's complexity and minerality.
Viticulture:
The estate practices organic viticulture with an emphasis on organic methods. The vineyard is planted exclusively with Merlot, with a density of 5,000 vines per hectare. The vines are trained using the cordon de Royat method to limit yields and concentrate the flavors in the grapes.
Winemaking:
Fantaisie du Conte is produced without added sulfur, highlighting the natural fruit characteristics of the Merlot grape. The wine is aged for 12 months in spherical, octagonal concrete vats, known as Galileo vats, which help to preserve the freshness and purity of the fruit.
Tasting Notes:
