Terroir:
Located in Marsannay, a region sharing slope and soil characteristics with Gevrey and Morey, the "Les Longeroies" vineyard is renowned for its clay-limestone soils, ideal for growing Pinot Noir. The vineyard sits on a gentle slope, benefiting from excellent sun exposure and drainage, contributing to the elegance and finesse of the wines produced here.
Viticulture:
The vineyard is farmed organically, with a high density of 10,000 plants per hectare. The vines are 40 years old, planted using the simple Guyot pruning method. All vineyard work is conducted by hand to ensure the highest quality grapes.
Winemaking:
Once harvested, the grapes are fully destemmed and undergo cold maceration. Fermentation is carried out using natural yeasts. The wine undergoes a long, slow élevage on the fine lees, with aging in barrique (30% new) for 16 months. The wine is bottled unfiltered, preserving its natural character and complexity.
Tasting Notes:
This wine presents an elegant and pure expression of Pinot Noir, with great depth and finesse. It showcases aromas of wild berries, red plums, and subtle spice, followed by a palate that is ample and fleshy with a chalky finish. The wine is structured yet approachable, making it a versatile pairing for a variety of dishes, including chicken, pork, and cured meats.
